create a strong community
The growing demand in recent years for living in rural areas did not come in an empty space, the desire to put family and community at the center is only increasing, especially after the major crises we have experienced. But life in rural areas is not as magical as it seems from the outside. Many settlements and communities have difficulty maintaining this sensitive system well and fulfilling the goals of those who chose to live there
CommUnity
has set itself the goal of finding the main cause of the difficulty and providing it with a revolutionary and innovative solution in order to create stronger communities.
Business goals
Target audienc
B2CB2B. Places in rural areas, local government and regional councils
Business model
free for residents, monthly subscription fees for local governments, information transfer/advertising funded by targeting
Differentiation
a system that aims to create strong communities
research
market
I conducted research on leading systems in rural areas, interviewed users about their use,
These systems are designed to provide digital solutions for life in rural areas, on a variety of different levels.
My system solves the root of the main problem and focuses on it.
user
I conducted a survey that was answered by approximately 50 people from across the country who live in rural areas of all types of settlements.
I conducted in-depth personal interviews with residents and leaders in public activity at both administrative levels - local and council.
I studied comprehensively about the rural area, the bodies that control it, and how it is structured and managed.
Conclusions
I faced three main challenges:
Proper management at both levels of leadership
Transparency and sharing of public action
Lead and resolve conflicts between residents
All of this led me to one major problem:
Poor communication
Poor communication leads to poor management, poor communication ends in a lack of transparency and collaboration, and it is also what causes this, poor communication leads to unresolved conflicts.
This is the line that guides me throughout the entire project - streamlining communication between all parties in the community, with systemic guidance for proper, targeted communication at various levels and with artificial intelligence.
Formulating solutions
I have built two leading main solutions that all create better and more effective communication.
A social media system built on text-based posts
purpose
Make the main local discourse transparent, and collect data for AI.
Main operations
Takes the conversation out of dedicated WhatsApp groups and makes every sentence known to everyone.
Provides an opportunity for open interaction with likes and comments
Encourages conversation and discussion by threading a response as a new conversation
Every conversation or criticism is included in it with the option of labeling a public action and responding to it
Exposes the leaders, with transparent interaction for each of their messages
Unmasks an appeal to leaders by labeling and making the appeal public
A management dashboard through which you can see the management hierarchy and public activities and edit them with editing permissions.
purpose
Make public action transparent and subject to criticism in a simple and convenient way.
Main operations
Presents public information in an automatic and transparent manner by unifying the editing and presentation tools
Simplifies the main parts needed in each administrative part with a pre-built system definition,
Presents the people working in each administrative part and exposes them by tagging people in the relevant places.
Exposes every process and decision to public scrutiny by providing the possibility of tagging for the social network
Complementary tools
An active and passive AI system that identifies problems, advises, mediates, and leads. Both at the leadership level and at the resident level.
purpose
To be an objective tool with a wealth of information that helps in various ways to streamline local communications
Main operations
Identify problems by collecting data from the social network and by entering proper management rules.
Lead, advise and mediate by identifying problems and by personal inquiries and analyzing them.
The main tools - creating customized alerts for residents, management groups, and leaders at both levels. Creating customized text alternatives in the local discourse. Active consultation chat.
Architecture
After formulating the main solutions, I defined an architecture, got into the thick of it, and formulated a more detailed list of requirements using flowcharts, in order to arrange everything in a way that would serve the main goals.
mobile
web
wireframes
I started by throwing the solutions I came up with onto a page, then got down to the details. Every button and feature has a purpose, and its placement was chosen to serve the key user needs I determined based on the research and insights that resulted from it, and the business goals.
Imagine this happening.
I built main screens and from them I pulled detailed user flows, click on each screen and you can see the flow
registration
The end-user registration process is very simple without a username and password. Registration is done by the local administration of names and phone numbers, so the user only needs to enter a phone number and identification is done automatically. The additional details required are for business purposes.
social network
All interactions on the social network have one goal - to strengthen communication by making it transparent and by fostering the dialogue in a respectful way, so there are no dislikes, each comment starts a new discussion, and sharing is sent to see each other and not to a personal chat. Artificial intelligence also contributes its part in the suggestion to correct comments.
Navigation
The navigation is divided into two, the navigation bar, which contains the supplementary parts that are not part of daily use and the main purpose, and the central screen, which includes the social network and management tools - these are the central parts and are therefore an integral part of the home screen.
management dashboard
The management board is a working tool for leaders and a display tool for residents. It is structured so that every public activity is documented, becomes transparent and subject to review. The review itself is also transparent to everyone. The goal is maximum accountability through a system of responses and shares and an intuitive management system for teams.
On the web, the local user management system, managing permissions and roles
The permissions system allows the community leaders to have full control over the registration of users living in the community, and their classification into various roles.
In addition, it allows control over the community teams with advanced and simple management tools.
Ui design
The design chosen is clean, with almost no color or shape, due to the overload of social icons that are an integral part of the social network and management tools, another reason to give a sense of cleanliness and light when deep issues are on the agenda in the community.
